What is iBeta?
iBeta is an American test lab. They test and certify that biometric systems, in particular face liveness, meet industry standards. Vendors get their engines tested for PAD performance at iBeta to help de-risk their implementation from spoofs such as replays, masks, or deepfakes. Certificates don’t remove risk, but they do demonstrate an engine can clear a documented hurdle under a controlled test.
How to use it: take lab results as one signal. Your real users, devices, and conditions will vary. Run your own trials, monitor for drift, and keep some fallbacks for edge cases. For onboarding or recovery where liveness is required, pair certified PAD with strong identity verification so a good selfie also attaches to a real, legitimate person.
